The layout was going to be constructed as if (using my theory that if the SH to MV line had of been completed) Mudgee loco would have moved to Gulgong. Gulgong was supposed to have two triangles, one at each end and would have been the major intersection for the western line and the established Lithgow to Gwabegar line. Loco wold have been fairly large by my accounts.
So with this in mind I began drawing plans but after I got going and because Gulgong had a lot of infrastructure during its life then I would construct and exhibition layout of GULGONG as it was in 1966.
Construction began in 2003 in my 3 car shed in Gulgong and the layout measures 24foot long by 8 foot wide with central operating pit.
